Rachel Grosvenor: Author, Coach & Editor
My name is Rachel.
I’m a writer, writing coach, and editor.
If there is one thing I love more than writing, it’s chatting about novels and helping others achieve their literary dreams – that’s why I’ve spent so long studying it!
When I decided to use my PhD, MA, and BA in Creative Writing to help others, I knew that it would take more than this knowledge to be a coach. That’s why I studied to become a Certified Professional Life Coach too.
Now I am well placed to guide you through the creative writing process from idea to completion, including any concerns that come up throughout the journey.
I know what it’s like to dream of being a writer while working in another profession. I know how important that dream of writing a novel is to you.
And, I understand how stressful it can be to try and squeeze writing into your full-time life.
I completed my full-time PhD alongside working two jobs. I didn’t just work in these roles, I succeeded in them – winning business excellence awards, achieving full mark observations in lecturing, and completing the PhD with minor revisions in only four years.
This did not happen overnight – it took years of creating a writing routine and building a schedule that worked for me.
Now, I can help you do the same!
If you want to achieve your goal of being a writer, you are in the right place.
My mix of coaching skills and Creative Writing tutoring will give you a head start on your writing dreams.
If you’ve already done the hard work and have written a novel, I am also available for developmental and copy editing.
My background of academic creative writing and higher education in this field have given me the skills and experience to polish your work to perfection.
My values are creativity, attainment, learning and commitment.
I believe that everyone has the potential to write something great, and that with education, focus, framing and creative learning, we can write wonderful stories together.

Kind words from the writers I’ve coached
As a learner I benefited from Rachel’s obvious abilities in Creative Writing and loved the different challenges she gave.
I have gained knowledge on how to format my writing, how to write a character, how to edit, how to form ideas, how to approach writing agents. Enjoyed it! Thank you Rachel.
Rachel’s style is very supportive and creative, and exceeded my expectations when I first enrolled.
I have really enjoyed myself. It has been instructive, helpful, and most importantly I have grown to believe in myself and my writing.
It has boosted my self confidence.
Feedback is supportive and valuable, and the dynamics are lively and productive

Here’s what Frances had to say:
Rachel gave me a clear, thorough overview and understanding of my work with a focused picture on areas that need further work with detailed notes on where that was required and why.
It was an excellent road map and I could see immediately what I had to do. I wish I had sent her my manuscript earlier.
Rachel could see what wasn’t quite there yet and gave me the confidence and inspiration to finish.
You’re the only person who can write your novel.
Everyone needs a hand sometimes, so why not invest in yourself and take advantage of a fantastic opportunity. This is your chance to finally get your novel written!
Here’s what Jenn had to say:
Working with Rachel over the last three months has given me many things, but to put it succinctly:
I now have a flashlight to help guide me along the path to publishing whereas before I couldn’t see past my nose, all thanks to her coaching me how to plan.
Rachel’s brainstorming and researching coaching, as well as encouragement, helped me in taking something from initial idea to full concept.
Having someone who is a bit further along the path than me hold space and coach me through my writing concerns meant I felt supported and guided without feeling like an amateur.
